Traveling Experience by train travel in Vietnam

Updated: 26/2/2013 | 7:35:02 PM
Traveling by train in Vietnam is an unforgettable experience. You have spectacular views of the mountains and of the beautiful beaches. However, to keep your train trip positive, there are a few things that you should keep in mind in order to maintain a positive experience. In fact, you want to keep these things in mind so that you can have a maximized experience.

Here are some things to keep in mind when traveling by train in Vietnam:

Try to go by day if you can: Especially if you want to enjoy the beautiful scenery that Vietnam has to offer, you will not see as much if you travel by nighttime. However, if you are just looking for transportation, then nighttime would be sufficient.

Safer and cheaper: The great thing about traveling by train is that it is safer than the highways in Vietnam. The highways in Vietnam can sometimes be chaotic and different. Different from what people from wealthier countries would expect. You will find that a train is half the price of an airplane and only slightly more expensive than taking a bus.

Vietnam Train TravelNot as modern: Before you embark on an epic train ride over Vietnam, it is important to keep in mind that the Vietnamese railway will not be as modern as the Singapore or Japanese railway. The Vietnamese railway was built over 100 years ago, which means some of the modern conveniences are just not there.

Book a ticket in advance: The reason you want to book a ticket in advance is because it ensures that you will get the most comfortable seat for the ride.

If any problems arise: If you have any problems with the seating or food quality, then do not be afraid to talk to the coach and conductor. Any company that wants to stay in business will always be looking to improve upon their business, and the Vietnamese railway is no different.

Never wire money: It is important to never wire money for a train. There are the occasional scams, but most of them request that you wire them money. The last thing you want to do is lose money to a shady scam.

Windows and stationary trains: It is important that you never leave valuable items by the window when the train is stationary. Sometimes people will reach in grab your items and run away. By the time you get off the train they will be gone.

Overall, your traveling experience by train in Vietnam will be uniquely beautiful and unforgettable. You will be guaranteed to have an experience that you will never forget.
